For as long as I could remember, whenever we went on our long trips to visit distant relatives, I was always and forever shunted conveniently to a mat in the living room, rec room, basement, or laundry room, being the eldest, physically largest, and the scapegoat / lost child. My siblings always and consistently got beds and private rooms for the stay.
