So... I live in a Federation of States meaning that each State is a separate legal jurisdiction. Today at work I am dealing with someone who keeps saying "but in State A we buy land this way". I keep having to reply "Yes, I know. I worked in State A for 15 years. I am very familiar with how you buy land in State A, However this particular piece of land is in State B so the laws of State B apply and you will have to buy it the way we buy land in State B."
