So, it s been 12 years since the separation, and before that was 9 years of an abusive marriage (a two-way street). I hadn t spoken to her in a couple of years, but I called her on Friday - there was a topic too sensitive for SMS or email. And she was guarded but respectful. And I did my best to do the right thing in terms of respecting everybody else s need to feel safe, and also my own need to feel safe. We agreed on a plan. And she thanked me for my sensitive handling of the issue.... No Longer Angry With Ex-wife
