Emergency Services Personnel Subject to High Rates of Stress


A recent survey indicates that poor mental health, low mood, and anxiety impact volunteers at some point and 87 percent of emergency services staff. 3,627 staff., finished the online survey, carried out by UK mental health charity Mind in late 2014 It indicated that 55 percent of fire, authorities, and ambulance service staff had experienced mental health difficulties at some point. The speed is higher than that of workers of an earlier survey general by the UK s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, which found 26 percent, a lower speed, had experienced a mental health issue. Working in emergency services is certainly related to a higher danger of creating poor mental health, warns Paul Farmer, chief executive of Head. Yet, just 43 percent of these surveyed said have taken time off work due to poor mental health, a lower rate than among the overall work force (57 percent).
