Chronic PTSD May Up Heart Risk

People who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were at higher danger of heart attacks and cardiovascular death, researchers said here. In a case-control study, individuals with PTSD were 56% more likely to truly have a major adverse cardiac event (MACE) than were those without the illness, based on Naser Ahmadi, MD, PhD, of the University of California Los Angeles, and co-workers.
