Equine therapy helping veterans cope with anxiety and PTSD


Based on figures by the V.A. Hospital, soldiers with symptoms of PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, frequently faced rejection by their military peers and feel society will do the same. Which is why therapists say it is vital that you find new methods to take care of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome in our service members. The Rocking Horse Ranch in Pitt county has a fresh treatment system helping veterans and their emotions join. The program is known as The Equine Service for pairs and Heroes military veterans with horses at the ranch. Ashley Bonner spent as a medic in the Air Force. She joined after 911 and was deployed to Turkey and became a Staff Sergeant. In the year 2012, she came back to Greenville and left the service. A lot of times when you get out of service, for medical reasons or because your time is up, coming home from a deployment there is a lot of anxiety, depression and self doubt. says Bonner. Bonner started working with her equine therapist, Cisco and signed up
